Educational loans are something that is not easy to take out but something that many students do need to take out in order to get through school. There are several different types of
educational loans. One
educational loan is the Stafford loan and it is basically a government loan. Another main educational loan is called the PLUS loan. These are the two main educational loans that are offered to you when you are considering taking out loans for your education. However, there are huge differences between these two loans that you need to know about before you take them out.
The Stafford loan is the educational loan that is for the student. You take out this
educational loan from the government. You are given a certain amount for this loan based on your income level. Educational loans have a lot to do with your income level. The positive aspect of this loan is that you do not have to start paying it back until you are out of school. There are lots of opportunities to defer educational loans such as the Stafford. If you are going to graduate school you do not have to pay it back and if you are going through some type of ministry training where you are not getting paid, they also let you defer this type of loan.
The next educational loan is the PLUS loan. This is an educational loan that your parents take out. You want to be careful when looking into educational loans because this is a loan that you have to pay back right as soon as you take it out. This becomes hard when you are in school and not making a whole lot of money. When you are looking at educational loans, you need to think long and hard about the ramifications of taking out a loan. Sometimes these loans can add a lot of stress to your college experience. This stress is not always conducive to your education.
Most of all, before taking out
educational loans, realize that the Lord will provide for you if you just ask him. He does not desire for you to get into debt. An educational loan seems like an easy solution, but it is not always. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9) He will give you all that you need in due time.
